Founded in Ostrava in 1919, nowadays the Non-ferrous Metals Foundry Ltd (Slevarna Barevnych Kovu - SBK) belongs to the most dominant suppliers of gravitational and centrifugal made castings of copper-based alloys. Traditional products of the Foundry are as follows: sliding blocks for the rolling mills, cages of roller bearings, pump casings, turbines and impellers, blast furnace fittings, cable-end connectors, etc. The castings produced by gravity cast technology are moulded in sand (by hand or machine). The weight of castings is up to 6 500 kg. Centrifugal made castings are intended mainly for the production of bearing cages. The company is the holder of certificate ISO 9002.
