FENI Industries is the largest Macedonian ferro-nickel producer. It operates a mine and smelting plant for ferro-nickel in Kavadarci. The smelter was built in 1985 and functioned intermittantly up to 2001. The company is a subsidiary of Cunico Resources N.V. - The Netherlands. Because of its specific chemical content as well as granule shape and size, the offered ferro-nickel ranks amongst the best quality products of its kind in the world: Ni - max 23%, S < 0,15%, Co - 0,737%, C - 0,01%, P - 0,01%, Cr - 0,002%, Cu - 0,03%, Fe - residual up to 100%.
